Pumpkin and Rosebud – ADOPTION PENDING

Pumpkin and Rosebud are a bonded pair of spayed female bunnies that were born in a horse stall in a barn back in 2016.  What started out as four or five bunnies in a barn turned out to be a total of 38 bunnies by the time we caught them all and two of the females had babies.  Pumpkin and Rosebud were in the first group of little ones that we caught.  They were always clinging to each other so we kept them as a pair.  They have come back to us because of a divorce in the family that adopted them. They have been in foster care since Dec. 2021 and in their first foster home they became agitated and bit one of the children so we had to move them to another foster home. It took several months in their foster home to develop trust and learn the kind of environment they need.  They have come a long way however they will need a home with older children that will respect their space, or no children.  They are a gentle pair, very sweet and curious, always wanting to explore their surroundings. They love to chew cardboard, grass mats, and wooden toys.  They love their veggies and occasional treats.   Their litterbox skills are improving and not 100% yet.  They will need an environment that has peace and quiet.  In the right environment will make a great addition to a family.   If you would like to adopt Pumpkin and Rosebud, please contact the Missouri House Rabbit Society in Kansas City.
