Cora and Onyx
Cora and her baby Onyx were rescued from a backyard breeding situation when the abusive boyfriend who was breeding the bunnies was told to leave the house where he was living. The woman living there felt bad for the bunnies and got them to a place where they would be cared for. A total of 14 bunnies were rescuded. Some have been adopted through MOHRS and some went to other rescues. Cora is the mom and the one with the tattered ears and enjoys being petted. She is two years old. Onyx the baby is timid and spooks easily until she gets to know you although she is adventurous and likes to explore. She is ten months old. They love to eat fresh salad and fruits like blueberries and strawberries. They also enjoy daily treats, their food pellets and lots of timothy hay. They have not been exposed to animals other than bunnies – they have been around kids. Like most bunnies they do not like to be picked up. Even with their rough start, Cora and Onyx have nothing but sweetness to bring into someone’s life. If you are interested in adopting this mother and daughter pair, please contact the Missouri House Rabbit Society in Kansas City.
